I Would Love a Little Help
May 13, 2025 by E. Joe Brown
As I said last time, I've used this blog primarily to discuss my Kelly Can Saga Series. But again, this time, it would be good for me to give you some ideas about what I want to do later this year. The next few months will be busy because of conferences and events. My wife and I also plan to use the first half of June as vacation time.

Now, what help am I looking for? You folks live in many areas, and each has conferences, various events, and venues that would be good for an author like me to attend and be part of. An example I'll use is what I did last September. I was at the San Angelo, TX, Cowboy Gathering. Over a thousand people who enjoy Western/Texas Swing music attended the event and danced and danced and danced. BUT, I had a table there and made a lot of new contacts and friends, and I have some new readers.
I had a wonderful time, and the gathering organizer has invited me back this coming September. My point is that I didn't have to go to book festivals, bookstores, or libraries. I want to go where people are, especially those who enjoy all things Western and maybe a little Romance. I sold more books that weekend than at most typical author events.
I would appreciate it if you could send me your favorite events in your area with typical dates. I'll contact the organizers and hopefully visit your hometown. I want to be busy from August to Thanksgiving this year, and I'll use the information to begin planning for 2026.
You are part of my team, and I greatly appreciate you. I hope to see you soon. I'll be in Amarillo, Texas, from June 18 to 21 for the Western Writers of America Conference. On July 26th, I'll be in Duncan, Oklahoma, at the Chisholm Trail Heritage Center for the Day of the Cowboy Celebration.
Happy Trails,
Joe
