     I hope you got your shopping done and all that's left are some presents that still need to be wrapped. You say you haven’t even started!!! OMG!!! That’s a typical mid-December conversation, isn’t it? I remember when I was still working at Edward AFB my friends would talk about how they had let time slip by and now they would need to fight the crowds who were also doing last-minute shopping.

     As I mentioned at Thanksgiving time, this is my favorite time of the year. I love the decorations, just the entire atmosphere. I also like how we are reminded that giving is more rewarding than getting. Now, I must admit as an old football coach I love that this is football season, but now I’m losing focus. I encourage all of us to take a little time and find a quiet spot to reflect on how fortunate we are.

     Before the year's end, say thanks to a friend or family member; maybe an I love you would be even better. We hurry through life so much that buying presents at Christmas isn't the only thing we overlook. Letting the people we are going through this “frantic” life with should hear thanks or love ya more than once a year. I’m gonna do that now and truly mean it. So here we go...
