     The fourth novel in the Kelly Can Series has been sent to my publisher for the final steps before it reaches you, readers. Several steps remain in the publishing process, so it will likely take until March to reach you. This novel will be a longer read. Instead of around 85,000 words in the first three editions, this part of the story is about 120,000 words. Charlie and Susan go from Oklahoma to California because Hank Thomas (their landman and business partner) describes the exciting things happening out west in the oil business. They also know their friend, J. Paul Getty, returned to California to explore those same opportunities.

     I don’t want to give away too much, but how can our rich young couple go to California, stay at the Beverly Hills Hotel, see a thriving city, and not take advantage of several business opportunities? Along the way, they also meet several famous people from different walks of life.

     They also add a beautiful ranch in the Santa Inez Valley to their list of properties. It’s hard for me to share more, but I don’t want to spoil the surprises you’ll enjoy in the next installment of this series.

     I’ll share a little about what's coming up in October.

• October 2-3: I’ll be in Las Cruces, NM, for the New Mexico Book Awards and a festival.
• October 8 -10: Eureka Springs, AR, for the Ozark Creative Writers Conference
• October 13: Davis, OK, for a book signing
• October 15:  Atoka, OK, for a book signing
• October 17:  Ardmore, OK, for a book signing

     
     On October 30th in Santa Rosa, NM, I'll be participating in an event honoring Rudolfo Anaya. I have some events scheduled for November that I’ll share next time. I hope you’re experiencing a great start to the Fall Season.
